Ian Cooper- Bali Trip- September 2016

I have just returned from Bali – to attend a wedding held in Uluwatu – at the Istana Villa a breathtaking cliff top position on the South Western tip of Bali’s Bukit Peninsula.

Istana can accommodate 10 adults in 5 bedrooms and is comfortable in catering for up to 150 guests at the wedding – the food was amazing, better than most Bali Restaurants and the Istana Spa offers on-site treatments. They can also provide chauffeured car transfers on request.

In Seminyak we stayed at IZE SEMINKAK – part of the Lifestyle Retreats chain. Boasts a great position in Seminyak close to all the popular restaurants , bars and shops. The Single Malt Bar is not to be missed.

Before returning we relaxed in UBUD at THE TJUMPHAN HOTEL for 3 nights- and took a Balinese Cooking School- a not to be missed experience while in UBUD. It takes around 5 hours and includes a market tour with explanation about the rice paddies before arriving at a typical Balinese home for the class – 8 dishes including a cook book to take home with all the dishes that you have personally helped prepare.

If you have active kids, love nature and a challenge then this is the holiday for you too!
I just returned from Borneo and it has all that and more.
My whole family really enjoyed this holiday, we based ourselves at a luxury beach resort for a week and during our stay we saw Orang-utans, the obscure Proboscis Monkeys and amazing Fireflies! We also spent three nights on a secluded island hideaway of just 48 timbered villas terraced into the Borneo Jungle hillside and hidden on a tranquil bay with a white sandy beach and fabulous view of the South China Sea. During our stay we enjoyed zip lining, snorkelling and jungle treks.
My 10yr old son and I also climbed the tallest Mountain in South East Asia – Mt Kinabalu.
“What an experience”!
It took us 2 days and with very sore legs at the end of the climb we both reflect back on it and love the fact that we experienced this achievement together, it really is a special bond we will remember for a lifetime. If you are an active family and love a challenge then I highly recommend it.
On the way home we stopped for 4 nights in Singapore and Stayed at the Amazing Ritz Carlton – with fantastic views overlooking the Marina Bay Sands and with their  ‘Ritz Kids Program’ it was a perfect stop for our family. Call me to make a booking your family will remember for a lifetime.
